Tricounty Youth Service Day April 2011
Imagine the possibilities! Young people caring about their school or neighborhood and engaged in service to make their community better. Research has proven that engaged young people grow up to be engaged adults. Our local Tricounty Youth Service Day (TYSD) is committed to mobilizing youth to address local needs through service and to celebrating the contributions of young people. Want to be part of this amazing event? Here’s how you can get involved:
• Recruit youth teams by spreading the word through schools, faith-based organizations, sports teams, neighborhood clubs, your own children’s networks, etc.
• Be a role model for these young people and volunteer as an adult team co-captain or project coordinator.
• Lend your expertise and time to help with planning.
• Encourage your company or organization to support TYSD as a sponsor. In fact, if your company or organization teamed up with a school for Day of Caring, consider extending that partnership by sponsoring their celebration or joining them in their project.
